In-Person Proctoring Services

The Colby Community College Comprehensive Learning Center (CLC) provides test proctoring for students taking paper/pencil or computer-generated exams. When scheduling a proctored exam, please allow enough time for the exam to be returned to the instructor by the deadline. There is no proctor fee for exams affiliated with CCC or EduKan classes.

The integrity of the Colby Community College examination process is crucial to our ongoing commitment to course quality and student learning. To ensure the integrity of this process, we carefully review the credentials of prospective proctors. 

This service is for exams that are 2 hours in length! 

2 hour Proctoring

Students who need help writing an essay, solving algebra problems or preparing for a test are encouraged to visit the Comprehensive Learning Center (CLC) in the H.F. Davis Library. Students will receive assistance from trained and certified peer tutors in the CLC at no cost!

Tutors are available each semester in English Composition I and II, Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and College Algebra.  Other subjects are available upon request. Assistance with research papers, cover letters and resume writing is available

In addition to free tutoring services, students have easy access to computers and printers.  Come into the CLC to use a computer, print an essay, or study with your friends.  The patient, friendly staff in the CLC is dedicated to helping you succeed in your college course work.  The CLC is located in the Library.

Tutoring

After being accepted to Colby Community College, you may need to take the Accuplacer placement test. CCC uses this placement test in subjects like math and English to measure academic skill levels of entering students. This allows us to place students in classes that provide the best opportunity for success. Your test results may indicate that you can skip some introductory courses, or that you need more preparation before taking on college-level work. If you need more preparation, a developmental course may be necessary.

The Accuplacer Placement Test is administered in the library face to face only. Students who need to take Accuplacer remotely will need to contact library@colbycc.edu or call (785)460-4689 for more information.
